Santo Florelli

Santo Florelli was born in Italy and spent part of his childhood in New Jersey. In the early 90’s, he began learning drum set with the composer/drummer Max Biaselli. He graduated from the Artistic Lyceum "Paul Klee" in Genoa Italy, specializing in academic arts, visual communication, sculpture, and design. Then, he continued his musical studies at the "Modern Music Academy" in Milan, while privately training with the renowned Italian drummer, Agostino Marangolo (Rome). In addition to pursuing his own studies, Santo started his instruction experience in 1998, teaching drum lessons at several scholastic Institutes in Genoa including Scientific Lyceum Cassini, Art Academy Sinafe, Città Della Musica (CDM) and at "Farrington Music" in Burlington, NJ. In 2010, he attended the "Collective Music College" in Manhattan, NY.
 

He has worked and performed around Europe with many Italian Jazz, Latin, Funk, Pop, and Rock bands and took part in various theatrical productions. He has also collaborated and recorded with Franz di Cioccio ("PFM"), Korey Riker (John Legend's Saxophonist), Aparecidos, Calomito, Bob Pillott Trio, any many others. Santo has been a performance judge in many international drum contests like "Hit Like a Girl Contest." He conducted master classes in percussion and learning symposium at "CDM" and at the international Music Festival "PercFest" (2013-2014-2015), held annually in Italy.
He is a member of the "Sabian Education Network," an artist endorser for both "Rotodrum" and "Saluda Cymbals" and was dubbed the "Master of Musical Sensitivity" in the February 2012 issue of "DRUM MAGAZINE."   


Santo's teaching approach is aimed at tailoring lessons for his students in a productive and entertaining way to reach goals for all age ranges and skill levels.
